What is a podcast?
A podcast is a series of digital-media files that is distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and computers. Syndication feeds — using popular formats such as RSS and Atom — are widely used for publishing links to news articles and blogs. A podcast is a feed that delivers links to downloadable audio content.

How do I use it?
Subscribe to the podcast the way you would a news feed. Either click on the subscribe link or enter its url (http://www.ynhhs.org/EPpodcast.xml) directly into your feed reader or aggregator. The audio files included on the podcast can be synced automatically with your audio player, or downloaded to your computer for playback.

What do I need to use it?
The most popular program for downloading and listening to podcasts is Apple's ITunes. Others include Zune, MediaFly's SyncClient and Juice. The digital audio player WinAmp also has podcatching ability. The programs are free, as are the Emergency Preparedness Podcasts. Other content may come with a price.
