Core Team
Dr. Stephanie Sudikoff is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the section of Pediatric Critical Care. Her academic interests focus on the use of high-fidelity simulation as a multidisciplinary medical education tool to teach clinical skills, healthcare teamwork and communication training. She is the Medical Director of the SYN:APSE Simulation Center, Yale-New Haven Health System, as well as Director of Simulation for the Department of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics.
Tracy Evans, APRN, MS, MPH, is the Simulation Learning Resource Consultant with SYNAPSE for the Yale School of Nursing and Yale New Haven Health System. She has an extensive background in nursing, air and ground emergency medical services, and education as well as has experience in publishing and public speaking.
Roxanne Niblack, is the Simulation Coordinator for SYN:APSE. She comes with six years of experience in administrative support within the health system, most recently as the secretary to the Chief of Dentistry at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Roxanne is currently continuing her education at Albertus Magnus College. She is also the recipient of the Bayer Pharmaceutical Special Recognition Award.
Devin Weaver is a Simulation Technician for SYN:APSE. He has an Associates Degree in Computer Science and Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic. Devin has been functioning in the EMS field for ten years and a Paramedic for three. His academic interests are such that he hopes to be able to bridge the gap between EMS and the technical fields.
Jason Zigmont, PhD, NREMT-P, is the Manager and Educator for SYN:APSE. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Connecticut in Adult Learning. His academic interests focus on the role of Experiential Learning, Analogical Reasoning and Mental Models in improving daily practice. He is also an active Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic.
Liana Kappus, MEd is a Simulation Learning Consultant for SYN:APSE. She has a Masters degree in Education from Lesley University and served more than six years as Simulator Program Manager at Children’s Hospital Boston. Her experience in simulation-based education includes the development of curricula for clinical skills acquisition, competency-based training, quality improvement, crisis resource management and instructor training.
